killyourdarlings_01

  • KILL YOUR DARLINGS: This dramatic thriller has Daniel Radcliffe playing poet Allen Ginsberg and follows the events that lead fellow beat generation kid Lucien Carr’s (Dane DeHaan) to murder lover/stalker David Kammerer (Michael C. Hall). (6:30 p.m., Roy Thomson Hall)
  • TOM AT THE FARM: The latest from Montreal prodigy Xavier Dolan follows a young man (Dolan) as he attempts to attend his lovers funeral in an extremely homophobic community in Quebec. (6:15 p.m., Ryerson Theatre)
WE WISH WE WERE SEEING

  • DON JON: Written and directed by star Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this comedy tackles the effect of gender-targeted film genres — porn and rom-coms — on relationships. Also, apparently there’s significant use of Marky Mark’s “Good Vibrations.” (6:30 p.m., Princess of Wales)
ALSO PLAYING

  • HOW I LIVE NOW: An adaptation of the young adult novel of the same name. Saoirse Ronin plays an American girl in Britain during WWIII. (8 p.m, Winter Garden Theatre)
  • ALMOST HUMAN: A Midnight Madness pick that seems to mix slasher and sci-fi stylings, featuring both axe-wielding maniacs and probing incidents with aliens. (11:59 p.m., Ryerson Theatre).
