THE GREEN INFERNO: The latest from Eli Roth channels Italian cannibal movies from the 70s and 80s. Need we say more? (11:59 p.m., Ryerson Theatre)

PALO ALTO: There’s a new Coppola on the directing scene. Based on a James Franco collection of short stories, the film follows the lives of teens living in Palo Alto. (9:30 a.m., The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema)

LABOR DAY: This Jason Reitman drama follows a 13-year-old, his mother and man they meet over the September long weekend and the life-changing events that ensue. (6 p.m., Ryerson Theatre)

THE F WORD: Dan Rad has yet another film this weekend and we also wish we were at this one. This rom-com tells the story of two friends and the challenges that arise when one of them wants to be more than just friendship. (9 p.m., Ryerson Theatre)

YOU ARE HERE: If I tell you this comedy stars Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler and Zach Galifianakis, do you really need to know any more? (3 p.m., Ryerson Theatre)

THE DOUBLE: There’s a creepy guy stalking Jesse Eisenberg. Turns out, it’s Jesse Eisenberg. This film is based on the Dostoyevsky novel about a man who meets (and is troubled by) his double. (8 p.m., Winter Garden Theatre)


EXCLUSIVE: Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto film scenes together for The Dallas Buyers Club in New Orleans.

DALLAS BUYERS CLUB: Matthew McConaughey is super, super skinny and Jared Leto is in drag. But on a serious note, the film tells the true story about an AIDS activist and his much-needed work. (10:00 p.m., Princess of Wales)
