  • JASON REITMAN’S LIVE READING OF ‘BOOGIE NIGHTS’: The director of Up in the Air, Juno and TIFF 13 pick Labor Day leads a once in a lifetime event, which sees actors like Olivia Wilde, Dakota Fanning and Josh Brolin playing characters from PT Anderson’s 1997 porn opus. (6:00 p.m., Ryerson Theatre )

  • BAD WORDS: Jason Reitman directs and stars in this dark comedy about a man (Reitman) who enters the national children’s spelling bee. (9:30 p.m., Ryerson Theatre)
  • HORNS: The first of the three Daniel Radcliffe movies hitting the fest is a pseudo horror from one of our faves, Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, Piranha). A young man begins growing — you guessed it! — horns following his girlfriend’s sudden death. (6:00 p.m., Bloor Hot Docs Cinema)
  • PARKLAND: A much buzzed-about drama following the staff treating both JFK and shooter Lee Harvey Oswald at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Stars the likes Zac Efron, Colin Hanks, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Livingston, Billy Bob Thornton, Jacki Weaver, Tom Welling and Paul Giamatti. (9:30 p.m.. Roy Thomson Hall)
