Seth MacFa-la-la-la-la. I mean, really, who cares about some Family Guy guy host when BARBRA STREISAND is performing?!
Yes, that’s right, kiddos. The funniest girl/lady in movie musicals is going to sing at some point during this year’s Oscars ceremony. And if you’ve actually seen any of her films, many of which feature her singing, you know that the woman knows how to bring a theatre (or boat, or recording studio) to its knees.
To get you ready for what could, easily, be the highlight of tonight’s show, here are five (B)absolutely fantastic Streisand movie songs.
5) “A Piece of the Sky,” Yentl
While “Papa, Can You Hear Me?” is certainly the more popular song from this flick, nothing compares to the final note Babs holds here. Also, Babs is always at her best when she’s singing on a boat. (See also: No. 1).
4) “You’re the Top,” What’s Up, Doc?
While Babs is ab fab at being serious an reflective in song, she’s also a hilarious human being, with a definite cheeky streak. This selection from the What’s Up, Doc? soundtrack, a cover of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes favourite, is a prime example of how the diva can let loose.
3) “The Way We Were,” The Way We Were
Rumour has it Babs will be singing this Oscar-winning pick at this year’s awards, as she sets the mood for the “In Memoriam” segment. You might know it as “Memories.” Or that song from that movie where Robert Redford wears a navel uniform.
2) “Evergreen,” A Star is Born
This A Star is Born remake really is underrated. Babs and Kris Kristofferson really do a stellar job, especially with the music. I get shivers every time I listen to this track in particular, with its echoing, almost-eerie ending.
1) “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” Funny Girl
Hello, gorgeous!!
Seriously though, this is the ultimate Babs track and the rose of sheer perfection. Get ready for it, loves. Cause it’s a comer!

Ugh, she’s flawless
